Show Synopsis
Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is the musical Mastermind of David Yazbek whom was the lyricists and composer the show was based on a book by Jeffrey Lane, Which was was based apon the Pedro Almodóvar film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, The musical focuses on a group of women in Madrid whose relationships with men lead to a mad and confusing 48 hours of Passion, Love and confusion.
The show revolves around Pepa and her lover, Iván, He leaves her and she tries to contact him to find out why he's left. While she searches for Iván, she descovers he has a his wife and son, who are as clueless as she is. Meanwhile, Candela, her friend, is afraid the police might be looking for her due to her ex-boyfriend being a Shiite terrorist. As the plot develops, it is revealed that everyone's lives are more intertwined than they could have ever expected.
Mixing Technique
The show was mixed the standard technique he show was programmed using recallable VCA’s (Control groups) that were saved as snapshots within the SD11.
The way that Jamie wanted it to be mixed by the ‘line by line’ technique where the fewest number of microphones are open at any one time. This meant meaning the vocals could sit comfortably and sometimes higher in the mix without lots of bleed from the other mics.
