I grew up in a tiny village west of Glasgow called Kilcreggan, (60 miles approx),And I attended Hermitage Academy in Helensburgh which was abit of a dive but i got an education so that's the main point!

Ever since i was young i knew i wanted to pursue a career in theatre, I started out with acting, i just loved to act and make people laugh and got told I was good so i kept it up, Gaining me lead parts in my local drama group which i attended for 6 years and won standard grade prize in drama. It wasn’t really until I took drama at school I got introduced to the technical side of theatre, and my passion for lighting began - i had always had a passion for lighting and had a wide selection of disco lighting as a kid, because i loved the colours, and moods i could create- i finally found an area of theatre where i could put my deep down passion to work.

I had many projects when i was younger, I was the lighting designer/director for one of my local pantomimes when I was only 15, which to this day i find such an achievement. from that period of time, I was more involved in the technical side, did my work experience at Gilmorehill theatre In glasgow, which i learnt alot from and made me more determined i wanted to have a career in stage lighting.

I left school at the end of my 5th year, having not liked my final year and not getting good grades, and people doubting me i was determined to go to college and pursue my dream job. I successfully got a a place at stow college in Glasgow, where i did a NQ Technical theatre and digital arts. I enjoyed every minute of it. After my year there i ventured off to Reid Kerr college and under went an HNC in Technical theatre, which i gained so much experience and had a blast. I was lucky at my time in Reid Kerri got the chance to Take a show i did during the year to the fringe festival, i was the stage manager and lighting designer, this was when my passion for stage management started to come out. I really enjoyed organising the show and keeping everything on track. And i was then really considering changing my career path with-in technical theatre. - before i went to the fringe with the college, i had decided that i wanted to go into the industry so i got down to the last two to get a job as a junior technician at the SECC in Glasgow. Unfortunate i didn’t get it due to i had the fringe and the other guy could start it, but now i look back i wouldn’t of chosen it.

So at the last minute i applied for the Royal Scottish Academy Of Music and Drama (RSAMD) and i successfully got in, which was such a big achievement due to the fact i left school with no highers and only some intermediate grades. so to be now studying a BA degree. I’m very happy. I have enjoyed my time so far at RSAMD and I have had loads of experience, with musical theatre at the fringe festival 2008, to working on devised genre which i had never worked on.
