Being that our project wasn't a 'performance' or show as such but more of an event/activity without rehearsal, the stage management role within the project was somewhat unconventional - our job was to source props and set before the get in and this was a rather fluid task as we found things as we went along.
Paper props were a large part of our job as we required event-specific props such as clues, puzzles and a case file containing the suspects, possible weapons and possible locations.
A priority for us was to carry out risk assessments for activity on stage and for the audience to assess activities and make sure any possible precautions were taken to mitigate the likelihood and/or severity of injury.
During the event, our main focus was on keeping the audience safe and providing clearance for fly cues so the audience could progress to the next room safely.
We also had an ASM with a microphone to give the audience live hints as they required.

Stage Management
