In the musical 'Cats' there is a staircase that descends from above the set near the end of the show. It can't be seen for most of the performance and then it comes down to meet a hydraulic tyre. While one of the characters walks up the staircase it ascends until it's out of the audience's view again. This page will hopefully contain information on:

  • the design
  • costings
  • any problems/limitations with building it in the New Athenaeum Theatre and solutions to these
