1. What do you think are the top 10 skills or qualities required to be a scenic artist?

1. Good knowledge of basic painting techniques, 2. layout and paint application skills, 3. good ability of colour mixing and matching, 4. some more traditional fine arts skills such as sketching, rendering and painting, 5. well versed in techniques such as marbling, ragging, wood graining and texturing, 6. good understanding of art history, period styles, mofifs and architecture, 7. able to interperet designers small scale ideas to full reproduction (perhaps even improving it) 8. able to handle scenic materials safely, 9. able to work independantly and part of a team, 10. able to work to a deadline and delegate tasks.
