Timecode (QLab and TAIT EpiQ)
We wanted to experiment with the possibility of having communication between the TAIT automation desk and Qlab, we found that that easiest way of doing this was through using timecode.
While doing this we made some interesting discoveries -
• One thing to look at if timecode isn't working as expected in Qlab is your permissions as Mic input must be enabled. • One fustrating behaviour we discovered was that any time a timecode value is changed, the source of the timecode (in this instance EpiQ) must be stopped and restarted from 0. • You must also go into the cue list settings and enable 'Sync cues in this list to incoming timecode' • TAIT at 24 / 23.976 fps
