Alison Nalder
Alison was born in Leeds and graduated from Wimbledon School of Art. Opera designs include Frau Margot for Fort Worth; Turandot for Orlando Opera; Pearl Fishers for Portland Opera; Madame Butterfly, Fledermaus and Carmen for Opera Ireland’s touring company; La Bohème and Opera Spectacular at the Royal Albert Hall; Così fan tutte at the Royal College of Music and productions for the National Opera Centre and British Youth Opera. Theatre designs include A Doll’s House and The Importance of Being Ernest in Galway and U.K. tours of Smokey Joe’s Café, Persuasion and Rosie and Jim’s Music Party. Her work as Associate Designer includes Acis and Galatea and Showboat for Opera North; Maria Stuarda for Scottish Opera; The Rocky Horror Show in the West End and The Taming of the Shrew for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Abroad her work has seen in the Netherlands, Strasbourg, Ireland and the United States. Alison Nalder also works in trade shows, paints murals to commission and recently collaborated on The Wee Man - an installation beside London Bridge and later at the Eden Project. Future plans include designs for a new opera at Fort Worth.
