Venue York Theatre Royal

Touring to the York Theatre Royal in Term 3 of 2010/11, this show uses a traditional design to show the town of Salem.

Set

Built by Elizabeth Milne, Fiona Nisbet, and Jonathan Towers.

The set is made from timber facings attached to a steel frame, and the proscenium arch. Rostra and treads are also used for the steps. Pretty much the entire set (bar the frame) is built from timber, using a variety of flat styles as well as traditional mortice and tennoning. It's really quite heavy.

One of the biggest challenges was building the set so it could be broken down to fit in the Theatre Royal's loading dock.
