Gary is currently studying BA Production Technology and Management(2014-17) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and wishes to specialise in production lighting.

His first production he will be involved with at the RCS will be working as part of stage crew on Mother Goose 2014.

  • Counter weighted (single and double purchase) and non-counter weighted cleat and hemp pulleys.
  • Cherry picker/scissor lift operation and awareness.
  • Basic fork lift training – no licence.
  • Stage construction and breaking.
  • Rigging and focusing (whilst either flown out or in).
  • Storing, moving, lifting and loading/un-loading flight cases and trucks.
  • Stage, PA and LX systems technical drawings, planning, rigging and focusing/plotting.
  • Follow spot operation.

Software and Programming Work

Gary has worked using specific programs and consoles. He is very confident and reliable in using the listed items below and is always ready to assist.

He is most confident working with:

  • Chamsys consoles and PC software, MagicQ and MagicQ Media Server.
  • Zero88 desks, some being the Juggler/Jester and Fat Frog series (He quotes "Yes - know what every button does on that desk!!").
  • Capture Sweden (lighting visualiser).
  • Operation of manual sound desks.
  • Show Cue Systems software.
  • Qlab software

He has also worked with:

  • ETC and MA consoles.
  • Digital sound desks such as DiGiCo, Yamaha and Behringer.
  • Basic sound and lighting desks.
