• Check path is clear
• Watch horizon
• Countdown to lift when working in pairs
Personal limit
• Know your personal lifting limits and do not try to lift more than this
• Get help if necessary
• Know rough weight of what you are lifting
• Try to ensure weight is distributed equally
Lifting flats
• When lifting flats always work in a minmum of 2 people
• One person will walk backwards lifting flat slightly off the ground and checking that the flat is stable.
• Second person will push the flat and watch the direct to check for clearance
• Always check that the route is clear before you move.
