| Gemma is from Aberdeen, has a BA Honours in Fine Art, where she specialised in painting at Grays School of Art and graduated in 2001. In 2002 she volunteered to work at an International boarding school in Denmark where she assisted in many duties including teaching Art and English. It was a great experience and she managed to travel to various different countries as educational trips with her classes. It did lead to paid employment but after three years she felt it was time to move on.

| In 2005 she returned to Scotland and decided Glasgow would be a good place to call home for a while. She worked for two years as an Outreach/Youth worker in Govan before applying to RSAMD where she is currently studying design. Her aim is to make a living from being creative and hopes that her training in Set and Costume design is going to open many doors and give her the career she seeks.

| Gemma gained a lot from her first year at the Academy and realised she has an interest for Costume. Gemma has always loved dressing up for fun and would really like to explore some of the ideas she has for costumes that make you laugh. She hopes to get as much as she can out of her time at the Academy and is always looking out for extra experience.

| Gemma would like to make exciting thrilling theatre that is going to use a range of different media which should hopefully encourage new audiences. She would like to give theatre a right good shake up!!!
