System Design Details
Sub placement:
2 x Tannoy T40r were rigged towards the front of the seating bank, stage left and right respectively.
The idea behind the placement of the subs is to aid any base that comes from the band and music. There are only two subs, as there is no demand or need for extra bass to come through the front of house mix.
FoH speaker placement:
4 x Tannoy V12 were rigged as the FoH Mid-Top speakers. Two were rigged for FoH left and the other two for FoH right. Each pair were daisy chained. These speakers were act as the core sound for the show. Due to the size of the venue only four FoH speakers are needed. Having FoH left and right also means there is flexibility for any sound effects, music or band mix needing to come through different sides of the stage.
Desk placement:
For the technical rehearsal the desk was brought down and placed towards the top of seating bank, stage right. This meant levels for the band could be set accurately relative to the audience.
After the first dress rehearsal, the desk was moved to the galleries (second level in the Chandler stage right). This meant that the operator could still hear some of the mix and music, compared to the only other option of the sound booth, where the mix and music heard would be very limited. It also meant that the operator could change the levels if need be by ‘ear’.
EV S200 Speaker Placement:
The purpose behind this speaker is so the cast could hear the song for ‘Syracusia’. This is important as they need to be in tune.

Floating Suitcase
Up stage left a suitcase was to float in an 'open' position. We attached a drift through the lining that ran along infront of the ringes and then up to a bar. To hold it in a upright position we attached a line of sash to the handle and attached that to the bar above.

Washing line
The washing line was rigged using sash and pulleys. It was attached to the back of the wooden trunks with a screw eye. Cast attached the washing lines to pre set sash lines UCS and DSR ( using snap hooks attached to the washing lines )at the relevant point in the show- they were then taken out by the operator from the gantry at catwalk 3 and cleated off using a swivel clamp as a cleat.
