Templates are used to duplicate common items/text or formatting over many pages or many times over the same page.
How templates work
The commonly used text box is placed in a wikipedia page that begins with "Template:" the contents of that page can then be Embedded in to any other page using the following code- {{template:"template name"}} where "template name" is the name of your desired template.
How templates are made
any wikipedia page can be used as a template in this way so if you are designing a template you can begin making one like you would any other wiki page, if you have an idea for a template you can start by creating a link to it in the headings below
